Family
...is home and homeland for me

Your Oberhof
Even as a small child, my father regularly took me to Oberhof as a physiotherapist at the sports high school. Later, at the age of 12, I was delegated to the sports high school myself. From then on, Oberhof was the centre of my life and still is today, even though I moved back to my birthplace and hometown of Suhl due to other circumstances.

What was your sporting career like?
- 1999 Start of first ice contact with the racing sledge
- 2003 Delegation to the sports high school as a double rearman,
- 2006 change back to singles
- 2009 Abitur at the SGO
- 2009 Admission to the sports support group of the German Federal Police
- 2010/11 Change to doubles - foundation of Team Eggert/Benecken
- 2012 Vice World Champion & Team Relay World Champion
- 2012-2014 Establishment among the world's top athletes
- 2014 first participation at the Olympic Games in Sochi (8th place)
- 2014/15 First-time win of the overall World Cup
- 2017 Two-time world champion in the doubles' event
- 2018 Bronze at the Olympic Games
- 2019 Successful defence of the world championship title with gold in the sprint and doubles competition
What was the most emotional moment of your sporting career?
Winning the bronze medal in PyeongChang 2018 on 14.02.2018 was very moving. A serious fall in Oberhof in October 2018 caused many relations to change, but the fact that we were still able to become world champions on 26.01.2019 after such a failure in the same season was a really big inner victory.
What are your goals for the future?
The increase lies in the confirmation ;-) and of course the childhood dream of an Olympic gold medal still exists.
...this is where my sporting wishes and dreams originate.
