Your Oberhof

I associate Oberhof with memories of my youth, my time as a competitive athlete and the feeling of home and nature. Super infrastructure for winter sports and pure nature.

What was the most emotional moment of your sporting career?

The most emotional moment of my sporting career was the World Cup victory in Nagano in January 2001, one week after my grandfather, who always supported me very much in sports, passed away. At first, I didn't expect to win after the training runs. After the first race run, I was in fourth place. In the second run, however, I managed a perfect race run without any mistakes, so that I moved up from fourth to first place. I dedicated this race to my grandfather.

What was the biggest sporting disappointment for you?

Defeats and disappointments are part of life, just like victories. You can learn from them and come out stronger.

What are your goals for the future?

Stay healthy and start every day with a smile, then you will succeed in most things.
