The Oberhof luge and bobsleigh track, which is known worldwide from television, was inaugurated as early as 1971 as the second artificially iced ice track in the world. After regular renovations, the total length is now 1,354.5 metres and the Oberhof luge track is one of the most difficult competition tracks in the world. Starting from three different starting points, the track counts up to 15 rapid curves. You travel through a difference in altitude of almost 100 metres.
In winter, as a holidaymaker in the Oberhof holiday region, you can experience the racing sledge and bobsleigh track from the perspective of our world champions and Olympic champions. No special sporting requirements are necessary. You should be physically fit and at least 1.50 metres tall. Children from the age of 7 are allowed to ride accompanied by an adult. From the very top, from the men's start, it's down the long ice channel at up to 70 km/h. A gradient of up to 9.2 % ensures maximum thrills.
Summer bobsleigh rides in Oberhof (not possible at the moment due to renovation work)
Bobsleigh rides only in winter? Not in Oberhof! Race down the Oberhof sled and bobsleigh track at up to 75 km/h in the summer bobsleigh. The summer bob looks almost exactly like the original bob, but it's on rollers. With a gradient of up to 9.2%, 3 to 4 times your body weight acts on you. The adrenaline rushes through your veins. Ice rafting in Oberhof
The ride in the ice rafting boat through the Oberhof luge and bobsleigh track is unique. Glide in the group, up to 10 people, in the ideal line through the icy track. At the start, when you put on your helmet and sit in the boat, you will feel your heart beat. You look down into the World Cup track and can sense the excitement of the terrific athletes.
An experienced pilot steers the ice rafting boat. 1,100 metres of winding track and 14 bends lie ahead of you. In the ice channel, centrifugal forces of one to two Gs prevail. The adrenaline flows through your body and makes you feel high at the end. This is the very special "roller coaster ride".

Ice tubing in Oberhof
You prefer to ride alone? No problem, you can also ride through the Oberhof luge and bobsleigh track in an ice tube. A tyre-like inflatable boat is your vehicle through the icy track. You sit alone in the Ice Tube, wearing a safety helmet of course, and experience the ride almost like a racing sledge pilot. Physical forces guide you through the curves and you can reach speeds of up to 40 kilometres per hour, a third of the speed of the lugers.
