Description
At the "Grenzadler" on the Rennsteig high trail to the fork Axel refuge, turn left in the direction of Karin refuge, continue to the viewpoint "Hohe Möst" (887 m) and to the Möststeinen. We also recommend a detour to the lookout point "Zwölf Apostel" (Attention: very steep descent).
You start directly at the Rennsteig in Oberhof, next to the famous biathlon stadium. The hike is comfortable, not too demanding and still idyllic. Here and there you walk along the original Rennsteig, partly also on the Rennsteig bike path. Just let your soul dangle once and enjoy the forest. Attention. Now and then the "roller tracks" of the competitive athletes cross your way. These are the training tracks of the Olympic base Oberhof. Signs warn against speeding skiers or scooter riders. Pay attention to the signs. The boundary stones, which you will also see again and again along the way, bear witness to the eventful history of the Rennsteig in the Thuringian Forest. Very worthwhile tour.
