Circular hike Oberhof to the Ohratal dam

From Oberhof we head north, down the mountain for quite a while. Passing the Wegscheide, here ungebedingt once taste the Thuringian bratwurst from the grill. Behind the Wegscheide, the trail leads steadily down the mountain. Attention spoiler: the mountain goes up again on the way back. The paths are well developed and very walkable.

Arrived at the Ohratalsperre, there is time for a short rest. Along the dam you will partly experience a wonderful view over the seemingly endless lake. After a while you leave the dam again on the hiking trail towards Oberhof.

Now it goes steadily up the mountain again. After all, there are over 300 meters of altitude to overcome. The hiking route leads partly near Oberhof along the Historic Sports Facilities Hiking Trail. A rest can be planned once again in the Oberen Schweizerhütte. Afterwards you hike tightly back up the mountain to Oberhof. At the Oberen Hof you have definitely earned an ice cream.
